Help Mimi's Attic Survive the Recession

Help Mimi's Attic Survive the Recession

If you've been a Mimi's fan for a while now, you'll know that the last few years have been a wild ride for us. We've worked through a pandemic, a change in ownership, and a move from our original building. And, thanks to our hardworking staff and amazing customers, we were able to do it all while continuing to provide New York State's Finger Lakes and Southern Tier region with previously enjoyed furniture, household goods, home décor, and original products from local artists and artisans.
Ian and Amanda purchased Mimi's Attic from its founder in November of 2020 with dreams of continuing the legacy of being the only furniture consignment shop in New York's Southern Tier while developing and promoting an LGBTQIA+ positive atmosphere for our employees and customers. Our company is dedicated to treating all community members ethically and promoting environmental sustainability, despite these values sometimes conflicting with standard recommended business practices.
With the current economic recession and inflation impacting our operating costs, we're finding it difficult to make ends meet and are looking for any available support to help pay our employees and rent. At the same time, we are asking for your support as we work to keep our doors open. Of course shopping with us is a great and simple way to support Mimi's Attic. But if you want to support us, and don't currently have need of our wares, we've set up a couple of sources for alternative revenue streams.
To become an ongoing monthly supporter, become a patron at
https://www.patreon.com/MimisAtticIthaca We're starting small here with plans to expand and increase our offerings as we hit certain milestones. There is a lot of creative energy within our staff and regular community collaborators and we see Patreon as an opportunity to connect and provide value in new ways! But first, we have to stay in the game.
For a one-time gift, you can donate to our GoFundMe here. If ongoing support and engagement isn't your jam, but you still want to show your neighbors some love, our Go Fund Me is the way to go.
Another amazing avenue of support: Please consider sharing these links on your socials and to your network! If you tag us, we'll be sure to thank you for any and all to see :D
We are so chuffed to be part of a community as weird and wonderful as Ithaca and the Finger Lakes Region. If you've read this far, please know that from the bottom of each of our hearts here at Mimi's we are grateful to you.
